Teske wins four-way playoff

VIENNA, Ohio, June 15 (UPI) -- Rachel Teske birdied the third hole of a sudden-death playoff with Annika Sorenstam and two others Sunday to win the Giant Eagle LPGA Classic.

Teske is 4-1 lifetime in playoffs for the third-best winning percentage in LPGA Tour history. Three of those wins have came against Sorenstam, who captured last week's LPGA Championship in sudden-death but was denied a third straight win.

A 31-year-old Australian, Teske parred the first playoff hole and birdied the second to keep pace with Sorenstam, Lorie Kane of Canada and Jennifer Rosales of the Philippines. She returned to the 18th hole for the third time on the afternoon and birdied for her seventh career win and first since the Jamie Farr Kroger Classic last July.

Kane, teeing off an hour before the leaders, shot a course-record 9-under-par 63 for a 54-hole total of 12-under 204.
