Sacramento 68, Minnesota 55

SACRAMENTO, June 13 (UPI) -- Tangela Smith led a balanced attack with 17 points Thursday night as Sacramento snapped a four-game losing streak with a 68-55 win over Minnesota.

Edna Campbell added 15 points, Kara Lawson had 14, and Yolanda Griffith 11 for the Monarchs, who avenged a 72-71 loss to the Lynx in their season opener on May 24.

Minnesota fell to 0-2 on a three-game road trip.

The Lynx jumped out to an 11-4 lead just over four minutes into the contest, but the Monarchs came back and took the lead for good, 25-22, on a three-pointer by Ruthie Bolton with 1:35 left in the first half.

Sacramento had a 29-24 halftime lead and extended it to 55-40 on a layup by Lawson with 9:45 remaining.

Tamika Williams scored 15 points and Janell Burse added 13 for the Lynx, who got just eight points from Katie Smith and three on 1-of-10 shooting from Svetlana Abrosimova.
