Anaheim 9, Tampa Bay 4

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., June 1 (UPI) -- Jeff DeVanon recorded his first career multi-homer and four-hit game Sunday, powering the Anaheim Angels past the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, 9-4.

DeVanon, who also tied a career high with four RBI, backed Aaron Sele (2-3) with solo homers in the third and fifth innings and a two-run single in the sixth.

The Angels took three of four in the series and climbed back to .500 at 27-27.

Entering with a ERA of 9.00, Sele snapped a personal three-game losing streak and remained perfect against the Devil Rays (7-0). He allowed two runs and seven hits in five innings with two walks and one strikeout.

The Angels took an early lead on Troy Glaus' two-run double in the first and stretched their advantage to 4-0 on DeVanon's homers.

Sele blanked the Devil Rays until giving up an RBI double to Carl Crawford and run-scoring groundout to rookie Rocco Baldelli in the bottom of the fifth.

Carlos Reyes (0-2) took the loss, yielding five runs and seven hits in five innings.
