TORONTO, May 28 (UPI) -- Jon Garland pitched the first eight innings of a five-hitter and D'Angelo Jimenez had three hits, two RBI and scored twice Wednesday night as the Chicago White Sox rolled to an 8-0 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays.

Toronto leads the major leagues in runs, hits and extra-base hits, but was shut down by Garland, who recorded his first win since April 26. He gave up just four doubles and one single in his longest outing of the season.

Garland (3-4) struck out six and did not walk a batter. He threw 61 of 95 pitches for strikes, but did not get a chance at his second career shutout. The 23-year-old righthander threw his only shutout against Toronto last Aug. 28.

Jimenez's RBI single with two outs in the fifth inning opened the scoring and he came in on single by Frank Thomas. Jimenez added a run-scoring base hit in the ninth as the White Sox produced six runs, capped by Magglio Ordonez's three-run homer.

Toronto starter Kelvim Escobar (2-2) allowed two runs, four hits and five walks in six innings.
