Colorado 5, San Francisco 1

DENVER, May 25 (UPI) -- Darren Oliver tossed six scoreless innings and Greg Norton drove in two runs Sunday in carrying the Colorado Rockies past the San Francisco Giants, 5-1.

Oliver (2-3) gave up seven hits, struck out two and walked one. Oliver, who has posted an ERA over 4.50 every season since 1998 and missed most of last season with shoulder troubles, has allowed three runs or less in seven of 10 starts this season.

The southpaw threw 84 pitches in notching his first win since April 27. Justin Speier pitched the seventh inning and Steve Reed worked the eighth before the Giants got their only run of the game against Colorado closer Jose Jimenez in the ninth.

Giants rookie Jesse Foppert (2-4) allowed three runs and four hits in four innings. He struck out two and walked three.

The Rockies got to Foppert early, scoring in the first inning on a sacrifice fly by Jose Hernandez and in the second on an RBI double by Oliver and a sacrifice fly by Ron Belliard.

Colorado added two more runs in the seventh when Norton's double off Jim Brower plated Todd Helton and Larry Walker.
