Coria beats Calleri to win Hamburg Masters

HAMBURG, Germany, May 18 (UPI) -- Guillermo Coria, emerging as a darkhorse for the upcoming French Open, beat fellow Argentine Agustin Calleri, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4, Sunday in the final of the Hamburg Masters, a $2.83 million claycourt event.

The 12th seed overcame a calf injury to win just his second ATP title, adding to his triumph in Vina del Mar in 2001. He was runner-up at the Monte Carlo Masters last month.

The year's second Grand Slam begins at Roland Garros on May 26.
