Acquired from the Baltimore Orioles for Jack Cust on March 11, Richard is hitting .222 with a home run and three RBI in 19 games. He went on the disabled list on May 1 due to a strained left hamstring.

Richard missed the first four months last season following surgery on the same shoulder.
