Philadelphia 3, San Diego 1

SAN DIEGO, May 4 (UPI) -- Randy Wolf tossed six-plus innings and scored the winning run on Placido Polanco's fifth-inning double Sunday as the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the San Diego Padres, 3-1.

After allowing six runs and 11 hits against Los Angeles on Tuesday, Wolf (4-2) turned it around in this one. The lefthander yielded one run and just two hits -- both singles -- while walking three and striking out six.

With Philadelphia ahead, 1-0, Wolf stroked a one-out double and scored on Polanco's two-base hit down the right field line.

Jose Mesa worked a perfect ninth for his ninth save.

Padres starter Adam Eaton (1-3) took the loss, surrendering three runs and five hits in five innings before leaving with a mild right groin strain. He walked two and struck out six.

The Phillies took two of three games in their final visit to Qualcomm Stadium as San Diego moves into PETCO Park next season.
