Boston 6, Kansas City 5

BOSTON, May 1 (UPI) -- Todd Walker's third hit of the game was a two-out RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning Thursday night as the Boston Red Sox completed a three-game sweep of the Kansas City Royals, 6-5.

Kansas City is off to the best start in franchise history but was swept in a three-game series at Boston for the first time since May 15-17, 1998. After getting hammered in the series opener Tuesday, the Royals watched their bullpen struggle in each of the last two games.
