Tampa Bay 4, Toronto 3

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., April 23 (UPI) -- Marlon Anderson delivered a two-run double and rookie Rocco Baldelli followed with an RBI single to cap a four-run eighth inning Wednesday night, rallying the Tampa Bay Devil Rays past the Toronto Blue Jays, 4-3.

The Devil Rays trailed by three runs in the eighth and had runners at first and second with two out when Terry Shumpert and Anderson came through with back-to-back doubles off Toronto starter Mark Hendrickson (1-3) -– forging a 3-3 tie.

Kelvim Escobar replaced Hendrickson and uncorked a wild pitch before Baldelli singled in Anderson with the go-ahead run.

Carlos Delgado and Josh Phelps homered on consecutive pitches in the fourth for the Blue Jays, who have lost 12 of their last 14 games.

Delgado and Tampa Bay's Damion Easley left in the sixth inning after colliding at second as the Toronto first baseman broke up a potential double play.

Delgado sustained a bruised left eye and Easley exited with a right knee bruise.
