The game was scoreless in the second with two outs and a runner on first when Johnson slugged an 0-1 pitch from starter Jake Peavy (3-1) over the left field wall. Four pitches later, Stynes belted his third homer to make it 3-0.

In hitter-friendly Coors Field, the Padres were limited to six singles en route to their sixth straight loss.
