ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., April 9 (UPI) -- One day after another rough outing, lefthander Jim Parque was placed on the 15-day disabled list by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

He has tendinitis in his pitching shoulder.

Parque lasted just 1 2/3 innings in Tuesday's start against Baltimore, getting ripped for six runs and five hits. He also walked four without a strikeout before departing.

After earning spot in the rotation during spring training, Parque, who has a history of injury problems, started the regular season with an 0-1 record in two starts, and has been torched for 13 runs and 12 hits in 6 2/3 innings.

To take his spot on the roster, the Devil Rays selected the contract of righthander Alan Levine from Triple-A Durham of the International League.

Levine signed a one-year contract with the Devil Rays after being waived by St. Louis during spring training. The reliever went 4-4 with a 4.24 ERA in 52 appearances with Anaheim last season.
