San Francisco 5; Milwaukee 0

MILWAUKEE, April 6 (UPI) -- Kirk Rueter pitched six strong innings and delivered an RBI single Sunday, and Rich Aurilia homered to lead San Francisco to a 5-0 win at Milwaukee.

Felipe Alou became the first manager in franchise history to win his first six games, and San Francisco remains the only unbeaten team in the National League. San Francisco, which hosts San Diego in its home opener on Monday, also won its first six games last season under Dusty Baker.

Things have been far different for Ned Yost, who is in first year as manager of the Brewers. Milwaukee's 0-6 start is the worst in franchise history, and it remains the league's only winless team.

Five different players drove in runs for the Giants, including Aurilia, who homered in the third inning off Wayne Franklin (0-1) to make it a 2-0 game.

Rueter (1-0) continued his domination of the Brewers, allowing five hits and four walks, with one strikeout, to raise his career record against Milwaukee to 7-1.

Jim Brower allowed two hits in three scoreless innings for the save.
