Ottawa center out with separated shoulder

OTTAWA, March 26 (UPI) -- Ottawa Senators center Mike Fisher will be sidelined indefinitely with a separated left shoulder, the team announced Wednesday.

Fisher left in the second period of Tuesday's 2-2 tie with the Colorado Avalanche but did not believe the injury was serious. The 22-year-old is eighth on the team in scoring with 18 goals and 20 assists in 74 games.

Battling to hang on to the top seed in the Eastern Conference, the Senators already were without defensemen Anton Volchenkov (shoulder) and Curtis Leschyshyn (ankle) and left wing Peter Schaefer (back). Center Shaun Van Allen is expected to return Friday against Washington after missing Tuesday's game due to kidney stones.
