FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga., March 17 (UPI) -- The Atlanta Falcons on Monday signed former Buffalo Bills linebacker Keith Newman and former Green Bay Packers cornerback Tyrone Williams.
Newman spent the first four years of his career with the Bills after they selected him in the fourth round of the 1999 draft. The 6-2, 248-pounder has 238 tackles and 14 1/2 sacks in 52 career games, including 42 starts.
Atlanta's biggest offseason acquisition also came from Buffalo as the Falcons earlier traded a first-round pick in the 2003 draft to the Bills for wide receiver Peerless Price.
Williams spent the first seven years of his career with the Packers. A starter the last six seasons, the 5-11, 193-pounder has 445 tackles and 19 interceptions in 111 games, including 94 starts.
Ashley Ambrose, a starter at cornerback the past three years for the Falcons, signed with New Orleans on March 3.
