NY Mets 16, Los Angeles 11 (11 inn.)

MEXICO CITY, March 15 (UPI) -- Jorge Tosca homered and Timo Perez had a three-run double Saturday -- both in a five-run 11th inning -- as the New York Mets downed the Los Angeles Dodgers, 16-11, at Estadio Foro Sol.

Vance Wilson and Roberto Alomar also homered for the Mets, who pounded out 16 hits -- 10 for extra-bases. Wilson's homer was his third of the spring.

Mets starter Steve Trachsel surrendered five runs and eight hits in five innings and David Cone followed and also was it hard. After logging three perfect innings to start the spring, the 40-year-old righthander was tagged for six runs and five hits in 2 1/3 innings.

Scott Strickland notched the win with a scoreless 10th inning.

Shawn Green hit his first homer of the spring for Los Angeles, which had 14 hits and rallied from a 9-4 deficit.

Los Angeles starter Wilson Alvarez was battered for seven runs and eight hits in four innings.
