BRADENTON, Fla., March 13 (UPI) -- Henri Stanley's two-run double in the eighth inning Thursday lifted the Houston Astros to a wild 8-7 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Stanley recorded his third game-winning double of the spring as the Astros overcame a pair of errors and five homers by the Pirates.
Gregg Zaun slugged a two-run shot in the fourth and Morgan Ensberg followed with a solo blast to put Houston in front, 6-4. Zaun and Ensberg combined to go five for seven with a pair of doubles, four RBI and five runs scored.
Houston's bullpen shut down the Pirates thereafter. Ken Vining allowed a walk in a scoreless seventh to pick up his second spring win and Greg Miller struck out two and walked two in a scoreless ninth for his second save.
Both teams registered 11 hits.
