TUCSON, March 10 (UPI) -- Willie Bloomquist's home run with two outs in the ninth inning Monday lifted the Seattle Mariners into a 6-6 tie with the Arizona Cardinals, and the game was called after neither team scored in the 10th frame.
Thanks to a home run by Steve Finley and four strong innings by Byung-Hyun Kim, the Diamondbacks jumped out to a 6-2 lead after six frames.
But Seattle scored two runs against Miguel Batista in the seventh inning, then Bloomquist tied the score with a two-run shot against Mike Jackson in the ninth.
Finley and Chad Moeller each had two RBI and Junior Spivey and Luis Gonzalez one apiece for Arizona.
Randy Winn went 3-for-3 with two RBI and Carlos Guillen added one RBI for Seattle.
Kim yielded just two hits while striking out five batters against one walk for the Diamondbacks, while Mariners starter Ryan Franklin allowed three runs and seven hits in five innings.
After Batista hit Bret Boone in the left arm with a pitch in the top of the sixth, Mariners reliever Jeff Nelson retaliated by plunking Gonzalez in the bottom of the frame. Both teams cleared their benches but there were no punches thrown or players ejected.
