Cleveland 6, Detroit 4

WINTER HAVEN, Fla., March 2 (UPI) -- Wendell Magee stroked a three-run double in the seventh inning during his only at bat Sunday, helping the Cleveland Indians to a 6-4 victory over the Detroit Tigers.

After replacing Karim Garcia in right field, Magee stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and the Indians trailing, 4-3, before doubling off Nathan Robertson.

The Tigers had scored a run off winner Jerrod Riggan in the top of the inning to snap a 3-3 tie.

Riggan pitched just one inning, allowing a run on three hits and a walk.

Robertson pitched two innings, giving up three runs and two hits while walking three.

Benjamin Broussard hit a two-run homer and Coco Crisp went three for three with a triple and stolen base for Cleveland.

Craig Paquette homered off Indians starter C.C. Sabathia in the first. Sabathia yielded three runs in two innings.

Tigers starter Mike Maroth pitched two scoreless frames.

The game began after a 39-minute rain delay.
