Columbus 3, Edmonton 3 (OT)

COLUMBUS, Ohio, March 1 (UPI) -- David Vyborny and Ray Whitney scored 3:08 apart in the third period Saturday night to help erase a three-goal deficit and lift the Columbus Blue Jackets into a 3-3 tie with the Edmonton Oilers.

Anson Carter tallied twice around a goal by Ethan Moreau to open a 3-0 lead for Edmonton, which is 0-5-1-1 in its last seven road games. But Rick Nash, the top overall pick in last June's draft, netted his third goal in as many games against the Oilers late in the second period to begin Columbus' comeback.

Vyborny cut the deficit to one with his 16th of the season just over six minutes into the third and Whitney, a former Oiler, scored the tying goal three minutes later for his 62nd point, setting a single-season team record.

Marc Denis made 24 saves for Columbus, which moved to 5-1-3 in its last nine home games.

Jussi Markkanen stopped 24 shots for the Oilers, who remained unbeaten in three meetings with the Blue Jackets this season (2
