Jody Shelley suspended two games

NEW YORK, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Columbus Blue Jackets left wing Jody Shelley Sunday was suspended two games by the NHL Sunday for being the aggressor in a fight with defenseman Brad Stuart in Friday's 6-0 loss at San Jose.

Shelley received a double-minor for roughing and instigating, a fighting major, a 10-minute misconduct and a game misconduct as a result of the incident, which occurred with 11:40 remaining in the third period.

Because he received a one-game suspension in December for a fight with Ronald Petrovicky of the New York Rangers, Shelley was considered a repeat offender and forced to forfeit $14,024.
