Phoenix 5, St. Louis 3

ST. LOUIS, Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Mike Johnson scored the go-ahead goal late in the second period Saturday night as the Phoenix Coyotes picked up their second impressive road win in as many nights, a 5-3 triumph over the St. Louis Blues.

Coming off Thursday's disappointing 4-3 overtime loss to Philadelphia, in which they squandered a three-goal lead, the Blues again struggled defensively.

Johnson snapped a 3-3 tie with 1:57 left in the second, blasting a slap shot from the right faceoff circle past goaltender Fred Brathwaite. It was Johnson's career-high 16th goal.

Brathwaite replaced an ineffective Brent Johnson, who allowed three goals on 15 shots before being pulled early in the second period.

Daymond Langkow scored twice and helped set up another goal for Phoenix, which was coming off Friday's 3-2 victory at Minnesota. His second goal came with 36 seconds remaining when St. Louis defenseman Al MacInnis lost the puck off his stick and it rolled into an empty net.
