Creighton 88, Drake 68

DES MOINES, Iowa, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Creighton star Kyle Korver struggled throughout the game, but Larry House picked up the slack with 23 points Saturday night to help the No. 15 Bluejays earn an 88-68 Missouri Valley Conference victory over Drake.

Korver, who is eighth on Creighton's all-time scoring list with 1,571 points, scored six, his second-lowest total of the season. He hit just one of four from the field.

But House helped the Bluejays (19-2, 9-1 MVC) overcome a slow start to earn their third straight victory. Four other Bluejays scored in double figures, including DeAnthony Bowden, who had a season-high 17.

Drake (7-13, 2-7) led early, but Creighton never trailed after House hit a three-pointer midway through the first half to give the Bluejays a 23-21 lead.

Creighton led 44-38 at halftime and scored eight of the first 12 points after the break. The Bluejays put the game away with a 14-2 run early in the second half that gave them a 71-57 advantage.

Greg Danielson led the Bulldogs with 18 points. Luke McDonald and J.J. Sola added 16 apiece as Drake suffered its ninth loss in 11 games.

Creighton has won 11 of its last 14 games against Drake and leads the all-time series 78-51.

Korver's worst game of the season was in Creighton's loss at Evansville on Jan. 23 when he scored five points while making one of 12 shots. It is the only game this season in which the senior has failed to make a three-pointer.
