MONTREAL, Jan. 28 (UPI) -- Richard Zednik scored twice and Saku Koivu collected three assists Tuesday night as the Montreal Canadiens skated to a 6-3 triumph over the Florida Panthers improved to 3


2-1 under their new Coach Claude Julien.

The 42-year-old Julien led Hamilton to a league-best 33-6-3-3 record and was in the midst of a 25-game points streak (21


2-2) before replacing Michel Therrien in Montreal on Jan. 17. The Bulldogs lost that night, ending their run two games shy of the AHL record.

After dropping a 3-2 overtime decision to Toronto in his Canadiens' debut on Jan. 18, Julien has led Montreal to three wins and two ties.

Zednik set a career high with his 23rd goal early in the first period and completed his third multi-goal game of the season late in the second to give Montreal a 4-3 lead.

Randy McKay, Mike Ribeiro and defensemen Patrice Brisebois and Andrei Markov also tallied for the Canadiens, who evened their all-time home record against Florida at 8-8-2.

Viktor Kozlov, Stephane Matteau and rookie Stephen Weiss scored for the Panthers, who have lost four of their last five outings.
