Kentucky 67, Auburn 51

LEXINGTON, Ky., Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Gerald Fitch hit four 3-pointers in the second half and finished with 16 points Wednesday night to lead the 10th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats to a 67-51 Southeastern Conference victory over Auburn, which had a nine-game winning streak snapped.

Kentucky (14-3, 4-0 SEC East) has won eight straight and 17 of the last 18 meetings with Auburn. Fitch scored 15 points in the second half and his shooting sparked a late run.

Auburn (15-3, 4-1 West) took its last lead at 38-37 on a three-pointer by Marquis Daniels with 12:21 remaining. The Tigers still were within 42-40 after Marco Killingsworth drained a pair at the line just before the midway point of the half.

But Fitch scored eight points to fuel a 13-0 spurt, triggering it with a three-pointer. Keith Bogans muscled inside for a three-point play to cap it for a 55-40 advantage with 6:29 to play.

Killingsworth led all scorers with 19 points for the Tigers, who fell to 2-40 against the Wildcats in Lexington.
