New York 98, Chicago 86

NEW YORK, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Allan Houston scored 26 points and Kurt Thomas added 24 points and 13 rebounds as the New York Knicks handed the Chicago Bulls their 17th straight road loss Tuesday night with a 98-86 victory.

New York went up by as many as 21 points before the Bulls used a 19-5 run to pull within 91-84 on a three-point play by Jamal Crawford with 3:34 to go.

But Jalen Rose, who was 6-of-22 from the field, missed a fadeaway and Houston made a 3-pointer to restore the double-digit advantage.

Latrell Sprewell scored 16 points for New York, which salvaged the back end of a home-and-home series and ended a three-game losing streak to the Bulls.

Rose finished with 23 points and Donyell Marshall chipped in 22 points and 14 rebounds as Chicago suffered its third loss in four games.
