ST. PAUL, Minn., Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Former Duck Jeremy Stevenson scored his first goal for his new team and three players added two assists apiece Tuesday night as the Minnesota Wild skated to a 4-1 victory over the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.
It was Anaheim's season-high fourth straight loss.
Drafted by Anaheim in 1994, Stevenson appeared in just 56 games over parts of four seasons with the Ducks, collecting three goals and six assists.
After signing as a free agent with Minnesota on Nov. 26, the California native has paid dividends by recording an assist on his first shift with the Wild, then paving the way for the win over his former club.
With 2:52 remaining in a scoreless first period, Stevenson deflected Cliff Ronning's pass from along the left boards for his first tally since March 29, 2001 with Nashville and second point in as many games with Minnesota.
Defenseman Nick Schultz, tough guy Matt Johnson and Antti Laaksonen also scored for the Wild, who won for just the second time in six games to improve to 15
1 when leading after two periods.
Ronning, Marian Gaborik and defenseman Brad Bombardir each collected two assists, while Dwayne Roloson snapped a personal three-game winless skid with 20 saves.
Andy McDonald netted the lone tally for the Ducks, who have dropped five of their last six contests.
Adam Oates recorded his 1,040th career assist on McDonald's goal, tying him with Marcel Dionne for eighth place on the all-time list.
