Marquette 105, Grambling 74

MILWAUKEE, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- Robert Jackson scored 26 points and Dwayne Wade added 23 Saturday as 12th-ranked Marquette pulled away from the Grambling Tigers in the second half en route to a 105-74 triumph.

The Golden Eagles (8-1) led, 55-47, before Wade made a three-pointer one minute into the second half to start a 24-2 burst.

Jackson, who had 11 points during the run, gave the Golden Eagles a 79-49 advantage with a hook shot with 14 1/2 minutes to go and they cruised thereafter to their 23rd straight home triumph.

Todd Townsend added 16 points and Travis Diener 12 for Marquette, which opens Conference USA play Monday at East Carolina.

Paul Haynes scored 19 points to lead Grambling (3-7), which suffered its fourth straight defeat.
