Creighton 81, Nebraska 73

LINCOLN, Neb., Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Kyle Korver scored 25 points Saturday night as 19th-ranked Creighton posted an 81-73 victory over intrastate rival Nebraska.

Korver shot seven of 17 from the field but hit six of 14 three-pointers as the Bluejays improved to 9-0 for the second time in in four seasons.

Korver had 11 points by halftime, helping Creighton to a 46-35 lead. The Bluejays opened the game with a 23-9 run, but could not pull away as Nebraska got within 60-52 with just under 12 minutes to play.

Korver, however, hit his final three-pointer with 5:55 remaining, extending Creighton's lead to 71-56. The Bluejays made 10 of their last 11 free throws to seal the win.

DeAnthony Bowden added 11 points and Tyler McKinney had 10 and 12 assists for Creighton, which has won the last four meetings in the series.

Andrew Drevo paced the Cornhuskers (4-4) with 23 points and Jake Muhleisen added 13.
