Washington 95 Toronto 82

TORONTO, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- Jerry Stackhouse scored 15 of his 28 points in the third quarter Sunday as the Washington Wizards rebounded from the worst output in franchise history and posted a 95-82 victory over the injury-riddled Toronto Raptors.

Stackhouse helped the Wizards overcame a poor shooting day from Michael Jordan, who made just 1-of-9 shots and scored only two points to tie a career low.

It was the lowest output for Jordan since he also was held to two points against the Los Angeles Lakers last April 2, but he still impacted the game with nine assists and eight rebounds.

Washington, which suffered a 79-65 setback to the New Jersey Nets on Friday, trailed, 49-47, at the intermission, but the Wizards took control in the third quarter.

Stackhouse had a driving layup and 3-pointer in a 7-0 spurt that gave Washington a 72-64 lead with 1:39 left in the period.

Once again without leading scorer Vince Carter and Antonio Davis, the Raptors got no closer than five in the fourth quarter. Carter, who was sidelined earlier in the season, is expected to miss another week with a right knee injury.

The Raptors closed to 83-78 on Jelani McCoy's follow shot with 4:40 remaining, but Jordan made his mark without scoring as he assisted on the Wizards' next three baskets. A jumper by Larry Hughes and a pair by Christain Laettner gave Washington an 89-78 lead with 2:43 to go.

Lindsey Hunter scored 22 points in 24 minutes off the bench for the Raptors.
