Portland wins NCAA women's soccer crown

AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Christine Sinclair scored twice on a sloppy field Sunday, the second one coming in the second overtime period, giving the Portland Pilots a 2-1 victory over Santa Clara in the championship game of the NCAA women's soccer tournament.

Santa Clara took the lead in its bid to win the national title for the second straight year, but Sinclair, a member of Canada's national team, tied it in the 61st minute.
