Nashville 4, San Jose 2

SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Defenseman Andy Delmore's power-play goal 1:58 into the third period snapped a tie Saturday night and paced the Nashville Predators to a 4-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks.

Entering the season with 13 of his 23 career tallies coming with the man advantage, Delmore cashed in on Nashville's fourth power-play opportunity to give the Predators a 3-2 lead.

After getting a pass from Adam Hall at the left point, Delmore wristed a shot that snuck by a partially screened Evgeni Nabokov low to the stick side for his ninth goal of the season, all on the power play.

Delmore is tied for third in power-play tallies with Pittsburgh's Jan Hrdina, trailing Vancouver's Markus Naslund and Marian Hossa of Ottawa by one.

Making his fourth start in six games, Tomas Vokoun turned aside 28 shots, including a sliding glove save on Teemu Selanne with 6 1/2 minutes remaining.

Rookie Vernon Fiddler knotted the game with his third goal in four games for Nashville, while defenseman Kimmo Timonen scored his first goal since Oct. 19.

Scott Walker added an empty-netter for the Predators, who have won four of their last six games.

Selanne and Vincent Damphousse tallied for the Sharks, who lost for the first time since firing Darryl Sutter last Sunday.
