DALLAS, Nov. 29 (UPI) -- Dan Blackburn turned aside 20 shots and defenseman Tom Poti scored twice Friday night as the New York Rangers rebounded from a humbling defeat to earn a 3-3 tie against the league-leading Dallas Stars.
Making his 11th consecutive start in place of the injured Mike Richter, the 19-year-old Blackburn stopped all seven Dallas shots over the final 25 minutes after surrendering three goals on 16 shots in the first two periods.
Blackburn bounced back nicely after yielding seven goals on 25 shots in Thursday's 7-4 loss to the Atlanta Thrashers.
After collecting three assists on Thursday, Poti gave the Rangers a 1-0 lead 7:17 into the contest with his fourth goal of the season. He scored again early in the second to draw New York even at 2-2 and post the first multi-goal game of his career.
