ATLANTA, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Michael Vick passed for two touchdowns and scored another himself Sunday to lead Atlanta to a 24-17 victory over the New Orleans Saints that extended the Falcons' unbeaten streak to six games.
Vick, who three weeks ago paced the Falcons (6-3-1) to a 37-35 victory over the Saints (7-3) at New Orleans, threw a 74 yard touchdown pass to Trevor Gaylor six minutes into the second quarter and a four-yarder to tight end Alge Crumpler with 3:56 left in the contest.
He then ran seven yards for a score midway through the third quarter.
Crumpler's catch gave the Falcons a 24-10 lead, but the Saints cut that to the final margin when Aaron Brooks, who threw a 57-yard touchdown pass to Joe Horn three minutes into the final period, connected on a 14-yard scoring strike to Donte' Stallworth with 47 seconds left to play.
The Saints tried an onside kickoff, but Crumpler recovered it to clinch the victory.
The Vick-to-Gaylor bomb provided all of the first half scoring. Atlanta's Jay Feely was wide on a 39-yard field goal midway the first quarter and a Ken Irvin interception at the New Orleans 13 with 23 seconds left before intermission blunted a 49-yard Falcons' drive.
Vick, who threw for 160 yards and ran for 55, completed only four of 12 passes in the first half and had a total of just 18 yards on the other three completions. He also had minus rushing yardage before ripping of back-to-back runs of 33 and 10 yards on the Falcons' final possession of the half.
Atlanta drove 72 yards on its first second-half possession with Vick's touchdown run giving them a 14-0 lead. The Saints, who entered the contest averaging more than 32 points per game to lead the NFL, finally scored with 3:37 left in the third period on a 35-yard field goal by John Carney.
Feely kicked a 42-yard field goal in the opening minute of the final quarter to give Atlanta a 17-3 lead and New Orleans closed to within 17-10 with 11:54 remaining on Brooks' bomb to Horn.
