MONTREAL, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Jeff Hackett came within 2:14 of the Montreal Canadiens' second straight shutout Saturday night and Yanic Perreault scored a pair of power-play goals in a 3-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings.

Two nights after Hart and Vezina Trophy winner Jose Theodore blanked the New York Islanders, Hackett nearly duplicated the feat. He shut down the Kings until defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky beat him on a rebound late in the third period.
