Philadelphia 6, Phoenix 2

PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Former Coyote Michal Handzus scored midway through the second period to snap a tie and defenseman Kim Johnsson had a goal and two assists Thursday night as the Philadelphia Flyers remained undefeated at the First Union Center with a 6-2 triumph over Phoenix.

After leading the Flyers to within a win of a trip to the 2000 Stanley Cup Finals as a rookie, Brian Boucher spent the last two seasons as Roman Cechmanek's backup before being dealt to Phoenix in June.

Making his fifth consecutive start in place of the injured Sean Burke -- another former Flyer -- the 25-year-old Boucher did not receive a warm welcome from his former teammates. Philadelphia scored six times on 35 shots, sending Boucher to 3-5-0.

Acquired from the Coyotes with Robert Esche in the Boucher deal, Handzus fired a snap shot from the bottom of the left faceoff circle past the goaltender's glove with 7:06 remaining in the second for his sixth goal of the season and a 3-2 Flyers' lead.

Esche earned his third win in as many games, stopping 18 shots, while rookie defenseman Dennis Seidenberg netted his first NHL goal for the Flyers, who extended their winning streak to four.
