Chicago 2, Los Angeles 1 (OT)

CHICAGO, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Rookie Tyler Arnason scored the equalizer with 35 seconds left in regulation Thursday night and defenseman Phil Housley netted the game-winner 94 seconds into overtime as the Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Los Angeles Kings, 2-1.

With Chicago moments away from its first loss in four games, Arnason scored off a scramble in the slot, putting a quick snap shot past Felix Potvin to tie it at 1-1.

Kings defenseman Andreas Lilja took a hooking penalty 28 seconds into overtime and Housley cashed in a minute later, beating a screened Potvin with a slap shot from above the right faceoff circle.

It was the only goal in six power-play chances for the Blackhawks.

Arnason, who hit the post 20 seconds before his goal, scored three seconds after a power play expired and with Hawks goaltender Jocelyn Thibault on the bench.

Defenseman Nathan Dempsey assisted on both goals for Chicago, which extended its winning streak to three games and unbeaten run to four (3

1). The Hawks are 5-2-0 at home this season.

The Kings suffered without star center Jason Allison, totaling just 23 shots. They scored fewer than two goals for the third time in 10 games this season while ending a 2-2-1-1 road trip.

Allison, Los Angeles' leading scorer, is expected to miss up to three months with a torn MCL and sprained ACL suffered Tuesday on a knee-to-knee hit against Atlanta.
