VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Oct. 27 (UPI) -- Brenden Morrow scored two third-period goals Saturday night as the Dallas Stars posted a 4-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks.
Morrow, who entered the game with just one goal in eight games, found himself in the right place for both of his tallies. He snapped a 1-1 tie 2:29 into the third and gave the Stars a two-goal cushion less than three minutes later.
Scott Young put a wrist shot on net from the right faceoff circle that Dan Cloutier stopped. Stationed at the doorstep, Morrow batted the puck out of mid-air and backhanded it past the Vancouver goaltender. The Stars took a 3-1 advantage when Morrow tapped in the rebound of Bill Guerin's slap shot while standing alone in the slot.
Vancouver had not scored on its previous 25 power-play chances before Todd Bertuzzi one-timed a feed from Brendan Morrison past Stars goalie Marty Turco, who made 27 saves and was very sharp in the first period, when the Canucks outshot the Stars, 12-7.
