NY Rangers 4, Toronto 3

TORONTO, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Pavel Bure scored with 57 seconds remaining in the third period Saturday night as the New York Rangers halted a five-game winless streak with a 4-3 triumph over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Mike Richter kept the Rangers in the game throughout, making 22 of his 36 saves in the second period. But he fell behind, 3-2, when Alexander Mogilny beat him with a one-timer 3:48 into the third.

The Rangers capitalized on a turnover by the Maple Leafs to rally for their first win since Oct. 15.

With the game tied at 3-3, rookie defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo attempted a pass to Travis Green on a late rush. But the puck was intercepted by New York defenseman Sylvain Lefebvre, starting the pivotal rush.

Lefebvre fed Rem Murray, who carried the puck through the neutral zone and found Bure. The "Russian Rocket" beat Toronto goaltender Ed Belfour between the pads with a soft shot for his third goal in two games against the Leafs this season.
