NEW YORK, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Denver Nuggets forward Juwan Howard was suspended for the first two regular season games and fined $15,000 Friday for throwing punches at Al Harrington and Jermaine O'Neal of the Indiana Pacers in a preseason game Wednesday night.
The incident occurred with just under five minutes left in the fourth quarter. Howard threw a punch at Harrington when O'Neal intervened. O'Neal and Howard then began pushing and shoving before Howard started to throw punches.
Howard had missed nine of 10 shots from the field and scored just two points in Denver's 96-89 loss.
Denver acquired Howard last season before the trade deadline in the deal that sent Raef LaFrentz and Nick Van Exel to the Dallas Mavericks.
