Indiana 95, New Orleans 74

INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 9 (UPI) -- Brad Miller made 12 of 13 free throws and scored 22 points Wednesday night as the Indiana Pacers downed the New Orleans Hornets, 95-74.

Logging 27 minutes, Miller also pulled down 10 rebounds and was five of 11 from the field.

New Orleans' Jamal Mashburn looked healthy after missing most of the last season's playoffs with a viral illness and vitamin deficiency. The star forward played 28 minutes and scored 17 points while hitting eight of 17 shots.

All-Star guard Baron Davis chipped in 10 points and four assists in 29 minutes.

Reggie Miller sat out with an ankle injury sustained during the World Championships.
