The Mighty Ducks cut their deficit in half on Stanislav Chistov's second goal of the preseason in the second period. It was the first goal in three games allowed by Wild goaltender Manny Fernandez, who stopped 24 shots.

Kuba restored a two-goal cushion with a power-play tally with 7:29 left in the second. Ronning's power-play goal in the third provided the final margin.

Ilja Bryzgalow made 20 saves for the Mighty Ducks. Anaheim sat out starters Paul Kariya, Adam Oates, Petr Sykora and Ruslan Salei.
