Millwood (18-8) matched a career high in wins, giving up a run in the first and seventh innings. He walked none and struck out five.

The Mets grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first as rookie Esix Snead reached on a bunt single, stole second and scored on Jeromy Burnitz's groundout. But Millwood dominated thereafter, holding New York hitless.

The Braves got all their runs on homers. Chipper Jones and Darren Bragg hit two-run shots in the fourth and Javier Lopez added a three-run blast in the sixth.
