Florida 2, Philadelphia 1 (2nd game)

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- Justin Wayne combined with four relievers on a four-hitter as the Florida Marlins held on for a 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies and a doubkleheader sweep.

Florida won thr opener, 6-4.

Wayne (1-1) allowed two singles over 6 2/3 scoreless innings for his first career win. Acquired from Montreal in the trade involving Cliff Floyd, he struck out four and walked four.

The Phillies' two hits against Wayne came in the second inning, when Pat Burrell singled and took second on Marlon Byrd's first career hit. But Tomas Perez flied out and Todd Pratt struck out and the rookie righthander retired 12 of the next 14 hitters he faced.

In the seventh, Wayne walked Jeremy Giambi and Perez before Graeme Lloyd came on and retired Travis Lee on an inning-ending double play.

Vladimir Nunez started the eighth and got one out before left fielder Eric Owens dropped Jimmy Rollins' fly ball for a two-base error. Rollins scored on Placido Polanco's RBI single, which chased Nunez.

Armando Almanza came on and surrendered Bobby Abreu's base hit, which put runners on first and second. Braden Looper replaced Almanza and got the final two outs of the eighth before retiring the side in order in the ninth for his 10th save in 14 chances.

Phillies starter Vicente Padilla (14-10) also pitched well, allowing two runs and seven hits over eight innings. But he surrendered solo homers to Andy Fox and Derrek Lee as Philadelphia dropped its sixth straight game.
