Blackhawks sign DeBrusk

CHICAGO, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- The Chicago Blackhawks Friday signed free agent left wing Louie DeBrusk, a veteran of three NHL teams who spent last season in the American Hockey League.

Terms were not disclosed.

DeBrusk, 31, had three goals, five assists and 42 penalty minutes in 30 games last season with Quebec and Hamilton of the AHL.

The 6-2, 238-pound enforcer last played in the NHL in 2000-01 with the Phoenix Coyotes, racking up 79 penalty minutes in 39 games without registering a point.

DeBrusk also has played for the Edmonton Oilers and Tampa Bay Lightning, totaling 24 goals, 17 assists and 1,154 penalty minutes in 397 games.
