Tennessee 24, Oakland 14

NASHVILLE, Aug. 15 (UPI) -- The Tennessee Titans scored touchdowns 12 seconds apart early in the first quarter Thursday night and rolled to a 24-14 exhibition victory over the Oakland Raiders.

Quarterback Steve McNair tossed a 34-yard touchdown pass to Derrick Mason on the opening drive of the game to give Tennessee a 7-0 lead. Oakland reserve running back Larry Ned fumbled the ensuing kickoff, which was recovered by the Titans' Tony George at the Oakland 11.

On the next play, wide receiver Kevin Dyson ran a reverse to the left side and rambled into the end zone for a 14-0 lead.

McNair was four of seven for 75 yards and a touchdown while backup Neil O'Donnell completed six of 11 passes for 67 yards.

Mason finished with three catches for 72 yards.

Oakland starting quarterback Rich Gannon went six of 10 for 50 yards before giving way to 2001 second-round draft pick Marques Tuiasosopo, who was nine of 15 for 107. Rick Mirer completed 11 of 18 passes for 99 yards for Oakland, which fell to 0-2 in exhibition play.

Wade Davis was Tennessee's leading rusher, gaining 44 yards on 17 carries while Eddie George had eight carries for 32 yards.
