Indianapolis 28; Seattle 10

SEATTLE, Aug. 11 (UPI) -- An 85-yard interception return for a score by Clifton Crosby with 40 seconds left in the contest Saturday night capped a stellar defensive

effort by the Indianapolis Colts, who spoiled the debut of the new Seahawks Stadium by posting a 28-10 triumph over Seattle.

As if losing in the opener of the new stadium was not bad enough, the Seahawks also may be without starting quarterback Trent Dilfer for some time. He suffered a sprained right knee early in the second quarter and had to be carted off the field.

"I don't know enough now," said Coach Mike Holmgren. "I'll know more tomorrow. "Right now, I would be guessing. Right now, they are trying to get him an MRI tonight."

Dilfer was 9-of-11 for 94 yards and a touchdown before being hurt. Backup quarterback Matt Hasselbeck was 14-of-22 for 139 yards.

Indianapolis signal-caller Peyton Manning went 5-of-11 for 46 yards in his short stint, but backup Brock Huard, a former Seahawk, was sharp, completing 12-of-16 for 161 yards and two touchdowns.

In their first game for Dungy, the Colts' defense allowed 10 points in the first 11 minutes but little else. Linebacker Sam Sword spearheaded the effort with 10 tackles, an interception and a fumble recovery.

The Seahawks were within 21-10 and driving late in the game when Crosby, a third-year defensive back, picked off a pass from Jeff Kelly at the 15 and returned it for a score.
