It was Milwaukee's first road victory against a National League East opponent in 11 tries.

Milwaukee scored the game's lone run in the fourth inning as Ronnie Belliard plated Jeffrey Hammonds with a single to left field off Marlins starter Julian Tavarez (7-9).

Tavarez allowed six hits over six innings, but suffered his fifth consecutive loss as the Marlins were shut out for the ninth time this season.
