Chi. White Sox 8, Tampa Bay 5 (12 inn.)

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Aug. 2 (UPI) -- Aaron Rowand doubled home two runs in the top of the 12th inning Friday night as the Chicago White Sox rallied from a four-run deficit for an 8-5 victory over the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

Chicago had runners at first and second with one out in the 12th when Rowand lined a 3-2 pitch from Jesus Colome (2-6) down the left field line.

Colome hit Maglio Ordonez with a pitch with the bases loaded to force in another run as the White Sox won for just the fifth time in their last 15 road games.

Randy Winn belted a two-out, three-run homer to cap a five-run second inning as the Devil Rays jumped to a 5-1 lead. But Tampa Bay collected just three hits thereafter.

The White Sox tied it in the eighth on a two-out, two-run homer by Carlos Lee.

Kelly Wunsch (2-1) retired the final two batters in the 11th to get the win, his first since May 25 against Detroit. Antonio Osuna struck out two in the 12th for his eighth save.
