Los Angeles 11, San Francisco 6

SAN FRANCISCO, July 27 (UPI) -- Tyler Houston went 4-for-4 with a triple and four RBI in his debut with his new team and Esteban Beltre also had four hits and four RBI as the Los Angeles Dodgers posted an 11-6 triumph Friday night over the San Francisco Giants.

Houston, a versatile infielder who also can play catcher, was acquired from the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday and played first base. He was an immediate factor with a two-run triple in the first, an RBI single in the second and base hits in the fourth and fifth.

Beltre is the player who stands to lose the most playing time with the addition of Houston. A third baseman who entered Friday's game batting just .236, he had hits in four of five at-bats, including a three-run triple in the second that gave Los Angeles a 7-2 lead.

Los Angeles starter Hideo Nomo (10-6) was not particularly sharp, allowing five runs and nine hits in seven innings. The Japanese righthander walked two and struck out five.

San Francisco starter Russ Ortiz (7-7) was tagged for eight runs and seven hits in two innings.
